Every Year many Americans will make New Years Resolutions ranging from losing weight to finding a new job to starting a family. Well I wanted to share some non-politicial suggestions that every American can work on to help America’s future.
- Imagine America where Christians and Jews are leaders by example in society today. We have many “leaders” who can talk a great game and talk about the Gospel and tell others the best way to live. We must be the generation that are not just defined by words, but by ACTIONS!!!!
- I believe it is critical we must take back certain narratives from politics of both sides. Neither “side” in politics owns any narrative. Let me give you an example. What comes to mind when you think of love and loving one another? Do you think it possible some will link it to the hippies and the sixties. How many would think of Christ and his call for how we should treat each other all the time.
- We MUST redefine the American Dream. Right now people think it is about winning, money and how much material things you own. That is only a recent opinion. Historically and people like me seek an American Dream that is based around freedom, opportunity and wanting to live in a country where no matter the size of your dream – you can actually achieve it. America’s history is that of making the impossible, possible!
Will this fix everything? NOPE! Of course there are many more resolutions and actions need to make America an exceptional nation again, but I believe this is a good place to start and can be discussed by those on the left, right and in the middle.

I agree we don’t need free love (ie. The hippies lifestyle)we need to show the love that is so deep and strong that Jesus came with mission to die so we might live “LOVE HATH NO GREATER THAN 1 WHO WOULD LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR A FRIEND” AND LAY DOWN HIS LIFE HE DID IN THE MOST SAVAGE WAY POSSIBLE COULD ANY OF US ENDURE THE SAME??…DON’T THINK OR DWELL TO LONG ON THIS BECAUSE HE DID ENDURE IT WE WON’T EVER HAVE TO AND ALL HE ASKS IS WE LOVE HIM FIRST AND EACH OTHER 2ND BUT WITH THE SAME LOVE HE SHOWS US.
Sometimes when we try to reach out to people who are so angry about this election, any loving words are met with skepticism and hateful, fear-filled responses. A dear priest we once knew, Fr.Mike Langell, from our younger days in Highlands, NC, used to say, “You just gotta love them to life!” We have never forgotten that. Such a wise man!
