Life In Utopia Q1: Why Don’t You Work For The Blaze?

Last week I appeared on the Glenn Beck program and over several days I have frequently been asked a similar question. Can The Blaze not hire you and get you over to the States? Could Glenn not help you out more? I have decided to answer this question in the first segment of Life in Utopia so everyone can see it and get the whole truth.

Would I like to work with the Blaze? Absolutely. My dream job is to work with Glenn & Blaze behind the scenes and have a radio show every day on their network so I could share my passion for America. HOWEVER The Blaze is NOT a charity, It is a for profit business. To work with Glenn and The Blaze you have to be the best and offer something unique.

The reason I am not there right now is 100% MY FAULT!!! I am simply not good enough. They are the major leagues and I am at best a minor league person trying to hone my craft.

But could you not help out on radio more? Again radio is a business and ratings are important. I am blessed to work along side some incredible people who are more well known than me, more talented than me and have way better ratings than me. There are shows that reach over 6000 hits on a regular basis on Soundcloud each week. I average around 400. You don’t need to be a maths genius to work out which is more impressive.

But could Glenn not do more to help you?

Glenn (and his back room team including Dom & Jonathon) are wonderful who have already done more for me than anyone else in this business. He took a HUGE gamble on me by giving me an opportunity and a platform. He along with all other staff have welcomed me into the family and offered advice on how to improve. Glenn has had me on his radio and TV shows. I don’t know what else anyone could ask of him. I know I certainly cannot.

It is now my responsibility to take this opportunity. I am working hard on my show and have some wonderful segments planned which I will share when they are complete. I have to improve everything I do to justify people taking an hour a week out of their lives to listen to an Irishman talk about American principles and then for them to share it with their family and friends.

I have no idea what my future holds. I don’t know whether I make it stateside or not, whether I get to work for Glenn or not, but please know this… It will not be due to a lack of effort on my part and a lack of prayer and it certainly won’t be because of a lack of help and support from Glenn and everyone at the Blaze.

In Liberty,

God Bless over each of you. JD

PS. Over the last 24 hours there was been so many countless comments and messages of support and love – I am beyond grateful for each and every one of them and have done my best to reply to them.

PPS. The Blaze are currently hiring. If you share a passion for America and love The Blaze, please check out their jobs and consider applying. Good luck to all the candidates applying!

  1. I hope it works for you…I’ve thought that with a little funding and guidance I might be good enough for The Blaze, too, but so far it’s not happening. Here’s to next year!

  2. I just wanted to let you know I can’t always listen, but I do try. I especially like listening to your podcast when I am working on my old car (1953 MG T-Type) in my garage on a Saturday when I am afforded that opportunity. You are a voice of fresh air and blessing to me and I am sure other listeners! My best to you!

    • Thank you so much. A new show comes out every Saturday at noon Eastern. I really hope you enjoy them and please consider sharing them if your friends and family. God Bless you
