Founding Principle – Laws of Nature & Natures God
I continue breaking down the Declaration of Independence and highlight the importance of your founders using the terms Natures law and Natures God. These have nothing to do with religion, but rather acknowledging principles are eternal and self-evident and never change. The rest of the world operates under the law of man which makes man king, but also it is rooted in popularity and the political will of the people and can change at any moment.
Cato Freedom Index – Ireland is 4th & America 17th
Cato recently released their Human Freedom Index and Ireland came 4th and America came 17th. When a country that is openly socialist with a proud progressive tax code and no individual freedom is the fourth freest, the freedom movement around the world has major issues.
Economics – A socialists reaction to a sports star earning around $500k a week
A soccer player in England recently signed a contract with a new club and his wages are around $500 a week. I discussed this with a socialist recently and their reaction was not very consistent with socialism. How many issues are you consistent on?
Freedom or Tradition – Should Irish business be allowed to sell alcohol on Good Friday?
Ireland has a strong heritage with the Catholic Church. One of the laws and traditions inspired by the Catholic Church was alcohol was not allowed to be sold on Good Friday. The government recently changed this and you can imagine the reaction, which leads to asking you which path do you choose – freedom or tradition?
